I've finally finished the manuscript for my first novel. The working title is "Into the Wind", and it's the first in a supernatural fantasy trilogy. I finished the draft years ago. I finished the drafts of books two and three in 2023. Since then, I've been tweaking and polishing the draft of Book One which now rests peacefully at 120,000 words. It's about as good as I can get it, and after nine years of writing, I think I need to let it go. I've queried a few editors and agents, and we'll see what the Lord has in store for this little passion project.
Here's the blurb I've been providing for the publishers. Hopefully, it will spark your interest as well:
"Donor of Raugerras, having spent his life training as one of Rhentarri’s elite soldiers, embarks confidently on his first mission. But everything falls apart when he stumbles upon a terrifying discovery: the men he was sent to spy on are not simple brigands, but the vanguard of a massive invading army led by Tarmolath, the ruthless son of a disgraced traitor. The enemy descends, the city falls, his idealism shatters, and Donor barely escapes with his life, carrying the weight of failure, the death of a mentor, and a crisis of faith.
"In the wake of disaster, Donor and his companions scramble to secure a second line of defense, a defense that will depend on his connection to the very divinity that broke his trust. He is forced to confront his deepest fears, doubts, and the haunting question of whether he is truly a valued instrument of the divine Wind or merely a pawn to be used and thrown aside in some sort of supernatural contest for Rhentarri’s soul."
Let me know what you think! And please do say a prayer that the story gets accepted and promoted. I believe the tale could do a lot of good in the hearts of many readers.
While we wait for this big book, feel free to check out my little book entitled Piloncilus: A Rhentarri Story, available on Amazon and waiting for your kind review on Goodreads... Tell everyone you know!
